As a means of  extending our reach and depth as an international ship's agency with significant experience in both the tanker market and the dry cargo and liner business, Sturrock Shipping acquired the business of two successful and long established ship's agency businesses in Australia in May 2010. The two operating agency brands acquired in terms of that transaction are Hetherington Kingsbury Pty Ltd and the McArthur Shipping & Agency Co Pty Ltd.

Both Hetherington Kingsbury shipping agency and McArthur Shipping represent international principals operating ships in a wide variety of trades with Australia.

The range extends to include

    •    liner services
    •    tramp and bulk operators
    •    refrigerated and fishing vessels
    •    car carriers
    •    tankers
    •    livestock carriers
    •    manning contractors for offshore drilling and supply vessel operations

Hetherington Kingsbury was incorporated in Sydney in 1951 while the history of McArthur Shipping dates back to its incorporation in Brisbane in 1908. Both companies enjoy a physical presence in 13 ports around the Australian coast whilst providing service to a total of 22 Australian ports.
