The South African National Ports Authority (NPA) have advised that with immediate effect no fresh water is available for ships in Port Elizabeth due to drought conditions in the Eastern Cape region.
The gripping drought crisis deepens as rivers stop flowing in the Garden Route and Eastern Cape area. The rivers are under stress as the drought, which is the worst in 130 years, continues.
